WASHINGTON – The Foundation for Excellence in Education today announced that former White House Chief of Staff John Podesta will deliver a lunch keynote address for the fifth annual Excellence in Action National Summit on Education Reform, with Dr. Chester Finn, Jr., president of the Thomas B. Fordham Foundation, moderating. This keynote will take place at the JW Marriott in Washington, DC, Nov. 27.
Currently serving as chair and counselor of the Center for American Progress and the Center for American Progress Action Fund, Podesta has led American Progress to become a notable leader in the development of and advocacy for progressive policy. Prior to founding the Center in 2003, Podesta served as White House chief of staff to President William J. Clinton; he also served in the president’s cabinet and as a principal on the National Security Council. Most recently, Podesta served as co-chair of President Obama’s transition team.
